Ring alarm pro review
Fire department came out and helped if I remember.Rings for Women. Torn out they had a nasty leak and they probably saved them. there was an article a little while ago about the carbon monoxide alarm going off, ring called them and advised them to get everyone out. Good response times when things have gone wrong etc. Obviously unlimited 60 day recordings for all your devices in the cloud.Īs for the monitoring itself I’ve only read positive things, calls in under a minute. From the posts I have read about this a lot of things seem to speed up I.e. Local recording to an SD card if you wish. You can choose what devices switch across on a failure.

If you get the pro base station, you also get full internet backup if your internet goes down. I know it’s now $20 a month but as mentioned you’re getting a bit more than monitoring.įull extended warranty it’s on all ring products, only exception is any products you may own that have passed the standard warranty date. However I have read a lot of posts on hear about monitoring and also I can tell you it’s actually a little more than monitoring. I can only give a partial opinion as I’m in the UK and we don’t get the “full” monitoring over here. Where as official ring alarm devices (not Echos) will always alert emergency services if you’re away like a real alarm system. From there you can escalate to emergency services if you think the threat is legit. Also, Alexa guard / echo glassbreak/smoke listening will never alert emergency services instantly, you get a notification on your phone with sample audio of what your echo heard. Where as official Ring listeners are only listening for physical smoke detectors a few inches away from each other. Therefor the included echo detection is only for when you’re away. They aren’t designed for when you’re home since they are simply listening for a specific frequency and movies can actually set them off. However Alexa guard / Echos only listen for these things when the system is armed/away and Guard is automatically enabled.
Be sure to test the Ring smoke/co2 listeners appropriately when the app lets you test to not set off any false alarms bĪlexa/Echos also offer additional smoke alarm listening (again, existing smoke detectors) and basic glass break detection. If it’s CO2 alarm then it will contact emergency services first. If smoke alarm goes off, your primary contact is called first. These also still work and notify you / or emergency services if you are home and the alarm is disabled. I would just use regular smoke/co2 detectors and use Ring’s official smoke/co2 LISTENERs that work with any traditional smoke/co2 house detectors. I personally do not like using third party zwave smoke detectors with it. I would just always use official ring products with it. 2nd Gen keypads are a step up from any concerns people had with the first one. Their support on the phone is always helpful. You just need to decide if you want the Old alarm or the new "Pro" version: The new alarm uses an Eero router, but lots of us are already on an existing mesh system and don't really see the need yet. I've seen people with years old Flood lights, have the Flood replaced because the LED's burned out I've had my brand new Flood Pro fail and be replaced I've had my doorbell replaced twice (They sent me a new battery first thinking that was the failure) Non-Ring and other third-party devices are not eligible for the extended warranty.

The true hidden gem if you will of their $20 month plan is: What's basically a lifetime warranty for ALL your Ring devices so long as they've been on the plan since they were installed.Įxtended warranty coverage applies to eligible Ring devices, provided you subscribe to Ring Protect Plus or Ring Protect Pro during the original warranty period, until you discontinue your subscription.
I had a frozen alarm a year or so ago and was on with their support for 45 minutes walking me through trouble shooting, if the last thing hadn't worked I was gonna get a new base unit. The monitoring center has called within a minute or so. I have the smoke listener and every time we set it off by cooking (5 or 6 times by now).

With that said, We have been very happy with the professional monitoring. (Only existing members get to retain the $10 plan for a few years still) The new professional monitoring plan is $20 / month. The $10 month plan is no longer available to new members.
